Hi Smoke,
Don't think I'd want to mess with induction furnaces at home - a few years
ago I saw the result of an 'experimental' furnace at a local company. They
had tried to build a better induction furnace and do a melt of aluminium.
All went well until the aluminium melted then it formed itself into a
spinning ball and shot out of the top of the furnace and right through the
roof!! Luckily, only one person was seriously injured but it could have
been much worse.
