Yup, that's it. If there is no battery backup, then I think it has to load the
executive program from the tape. There were probably also diagnostic
tapes, but only servicemen might have those.

Well, some machines DID have the program permanently burned into ROMs, but
I think I have heard that the Tree Journeyman DID load from a tape.
They may not want the machinist to know that there is a tape there,
or that there is even a computer inside the box.
