How about calling Tree and asking what you've got? On the west coast
Tree called be reached through Ellison Machinery.
As to batery backup...most controls have some type of battery
backup. The battery is not always obvious by any means. I have a
machine with a battery that looks like a little brown square of
chocolate and it's soldered to the circuit board. No way I would
have known that was a battery unless told.
Tree was notorious for disguising the actual manufactuer of the
control. Almost every Tree I've ever seen has a Dynapath control.
But Tree did such a good job of changing part numbers and board
nomenclature that a trained Tree control tech sometimes can't fix a
Dynapath control even though they are exactly the same thing.
Rather than spending more time on speculation try calling Tree.
