David it's not clear from the original post but as I was not
contradicted about the Z axis quote then I take this to mean a turret
mill. In the UK Bridgeports are built by Adcock and Shipley under
license from Bridgeport. If they are a genuine import they have
Bridgeport on the ram. If they are of UK extraction they
have "Bridgeport by Adcock and Shipley" on the ram.

As to whether the Adcock and Shipley horizontals are marketed by
Bridgeport I think you are right as I have some photo's in my Series
1 MDI manual that shows them with Bridgeport badges on but carrying
the A&S model numbers.
