There's stuff happening for sure. I'm in the middle of trying to rebuild
my system. Got some sort of generic boot virus in my partition tables
that curiously, doesn't infect any floppies read from or written to.
(found this with the online scanning service, Housecall, at Trend Micro)
However, my system became VERY unstable, especially Netscape.
Have just finished a fresh NT install on a new HD with some very basic
apps, -including- Norton SystemWorks and Ghost.
About ready to reattach the old HD and cautiously start recovering data,
scanning as I go. I've lost several days work over this.
BTW, McAfee is supposed to scan emails but it has never worked, nor does
it scan downloads, which I was under the impression it would.
Norton, much to my gratification, is scanning everything!

I'd really recommend everyone think seriously about getting a GOOD AV
program and staying on top of the updates, and a good firewall such as
ZoneAlarm. It's going to get worse before it gets better...
