Brian,

I've been working on that one myself since I put it in the drawing.
Mariss told me personally that he designed them (the G320's) for the
Socket 370 heat sinks. You have to careful which ones you get
though. Most of these CPU heat sinks are now dual purpose (Socket
7/370)and many have clips that do not fit the G320 properly.

I had to do some shopping all over town to find some that did (COMP
USA SKU# 275016). These are made for the Celleron, AMD K6-2, K6-3. A
little pricey, but they work. If you find a cheaper place to get some
like them, them let me know and I'll put it in the drawing.

Warning: Do not try to bend the clips for a better bite on the tabs
of the G320. They are VERY brittle and will break at the slightest
attempt to bend them. They are three wire 12V models, just disregard
the use of the yellow wire and use plenty of heat sink grease. They
also put out a darn good breeze!

I came up with a home-made 'U' shaped channel to mount mine in. I
milled the sides of the channel so that the outer fins of the heat
sink fit into the channel and stop at a depth to leave an air gap
under the fan. A screw goes through the 'U' channel and outside fin
to lock them in place. I can send you a drawing of it if you wish
(.dwg format or .dxf, please specify). Contact me off line. I also
have a drawing for a bracket for mounting the G320 to the heat sink
if you break a clip. (I broke one.)

It was really more work than what I wanted but I will not have any
problems with it and it looks very neat and 'Heavy Duty'. Sorry I
don't have pics.

Regards,

Donald Brock

fit these?

there. Also is it the case that this arrangement will provide
adequate cooling without additional heatsinking.
