Encoders are BEI, 5 volt. They draw too much MA's for gecko and are
run off a PC power supply which also powers the relays and limit
switches. The PC's ground is tied to encoder ground. The PC power
supply is not tied to frame ground anywhere.

The machine and servos are big. The longest encoder cable (z) is over
6 foot. The other 2 are 4 foot. The encoder cables are run in
separate metalic greenfield flex conduit from the motor to the
electronics enclosures. Maybe this provides shielding or I'm just
lucky.
