Yup, having to write 4000 lines of very tight (both time and memory)
code in a new flavor of micro that requires a $9995 development
kit just to get signals out of the chip is definitely an impediment
to a home shop project! That sure is a disappointment, because the
ML4423 looked like the only sane way to make a high frequency
inverter for high speed drill spindles. I need to go to about 1500
Hz, and I don't think any of the inverter drive chips based on a
CPU and some special logic will do it worth a darn. They are all
designed for 60 hz nominal. Well, now that I'm getting pretty good at
FPGA designs, maybe I could come up with something using them.
