Hi Alan T.,
I too have an old 5000 (Sears/Sherline) mill. I have converted it to
CNC, but the old AC/DC motor (fried the speed controller) and shorter
neck (Y axis) has me inclined to get a new 5400 w/ CNC motor mounts.
The 2000, as discussed on this list before, is a fine mill, but not
quite as rigid for our purposes.
