Frank,

Good morning! I can't answer anything about software but about the
G320 I can.

Unlike a step motor, DC motors need feedback to control them. Though
your software may run open loop, the G320 runs the motor closed loop,
i.e. the loop is closed at the drive using the PID algorithm.
