OT: Fluoresecent Light Question

Sorry about the OT but this group seems to have a wide knowledgebase.

I bought a couple of new 4' fluoresecent light fixtures cheap at a garage
sale. It turns out they must be used with a dimmer control as there is
one more wire coming out of the ballast which according to the wiring
schematic on the ballast goes to a dimmer. Any ideas on how to hook
it up without a dimmer control? They don't seem to work with nothing
hooked to to the dimmer wire.
