3D digitizer table

Hi Colin:

I am planning to have a digitizer option on my upcoming
XXYZ router table kits. I am going with a commercial-type
probe (interpret that as an 'expensive' option, realistically
around $1K range). However, it will give CMM (co-ordinate
measuring machine) performance if your mill or router table
is that precise (ie 1/10 of a thou or better).

Homebrew type probes have been discussed here (CCED forum)
early this spring, but I doubt whether any of those designs
are in the above performance catagory.... (and obviously
they don't have to be for many hobby purposes).
