Hi Andre,
While the max current for the steppers may be 5A, you'll rarely draw
that. And a simple linear supply (no regulation required) can usually
handle peaks of additional current over their rating. I'd suggest that
10-12A capacity would be sufficient. You have three axis, but they
won't all be drawing 5A at once. Gecko's are very efficient choppers,
so the 5A wouldn't be continuous. Also, interpolated moves, I believe,
would also lower the current requirements, as the moves would probably
be slower.
Consider building your own power supply! The regulation is not
required, and a power supply circuit is simple.
