Delurking....

I'm a manufacturing engineer by trade & full time occupation, and in my 2nd
full time job I run my own machine shop. I've got a 1977 vintage Hurco CNC,
servo based, 2.5 axis, on Bridgeport iron, and an Emco Compact 5 CNC lathe
(very small, stepper driven, nice unit). And a LARGE assortment of manual
machine tools of all varieties.
I've been lurking 'cause I haven't had a lot to say, and I'm too busy,
mostly.
I'm interested in doing CNC on the cheap, either retrofitting old machines,
or
grafting servos/steppers onto manual machines. My current need is for a
larger CNC lathe, and I'm still weighing the buy/make decision.
Back to work & lurk now,
