Thanks Paul,
The main problems are with understanding the nesting the docs say
that 8 levels of nesting can be used but I can only make one work and
they give no examples of deeper nesting...
and of course I am one of those folks who learn by seeing sample code
along with a cad file of the part it is supposed to cut... I would
have thought that they would have tons of samples to DL but they have
none... not even the samples in the manual... you have to type them
in by hand then fix every typo... What I most need is some samples of
this TNC subset code(or even TNC code I guess if I can figure out
what to ignore in the TNC version...) and associated DXF or DWG or
best of all SAT files to learn from...(Solids 99 Is an ACIS 5.2 based
modeler but it can read in any flavor of SAT format file and its
importer does an ok job on DXF and DWG ...STEP is very well supported
as well)
re the dos program ... yes that is what I use on the old shop
Macintosh (a 10 year old IIfx running SoftPC) to transfer (and
store) the files to the Positip855 I do all my real work on a newer
mac and the Shop mac is on the Ethernet 100t network... but all I use
it for nowadays is Transferring files and for Mr. Machinist (I reg.
the old dos version )
Tonight I found 2 more Programs on their web site PLCDES.azip and
TNCRemoNT.zip I will try them on the Vurtual PC Windows98r2 that I
run on the Mac 350 G-3 PPC workstation to see what they are... the
readme looks like its for the TNC only Just looking at them and they
all seem to be in German! not a lot of help for me there
the links to them on the website are dead but if you use
http://www.heidenhain.com/software/PLCDES.zip
http://www.heidenhain.com/software/TNCRemoNT.zip
you can get them
