Brian,
If you took the rotor out of any of those steppers, throw
them away! Adding extra conections is one thing, but doing a
rewind is an other. Stepping motors are magnetized after they
are assembled. The second you pull the rotor out of the field
without a keeper the motor becomes landfill!

several slo-syn motors that i will reconnect from 3 wire to 8 wire,
also i have some sigma steppers that are 3 wire i will also make them
8 wire. Now how can i calculate the amps per phase? or volts/amps per
phase. The other question, so i take one of these 3 wire steppers and
rewind the coils with heavier wire and connect them for 8 wire how do
i determine volts/amps per phase. I know the transformer routine and
math but it doesnt apply here. thanks cul brian f.
