Below is the initial email I sent out. The Renishaw
probes are general purpose and can be fitted to any machine
which has the facility to handle Probe interupt signals
which are generated when the probe is triggered.

The basic principal is to disable the Spindle rotation,
place the probe in the spindle, then use the probe trigger
mechanism to gauge distances on the machine.

Depending on the features of the CNC controller the
probe can be used to check sizes, set component datums,
identify component and make relevant program selection.

If your CNC has no facility to read probe signals then
these bits will not be of any use unless you can upgrade
you CNCs.

I have noticed that some are interested in CMMs and/or
3D digitising on milling machines.

About 8 years ago our small company ceased selling Renishaw
Probes and accessories with our software. It has taken me that
length of time to clear out the recesses of my Garage but the
demands of offspring who wish to hone their musical talent without
tormenting well liked neighbours has forced a clear up on me as
I move my kit to a smaller out building.

As a result of this clearup I now have various Renishaw parts
which are of no interest to me and which are available to the best bidder.
The parts are as follows :-

Appears to be in working order, may need to be calibrated.

2 1 Renishaw MP11 Machine tool probe. Renishaw PARTNO A/2045
This probe was designed for use with mahcine tools rather than
CMMs and contains its own Interface unit. The probe is in the
original box and comes complete with Handbook.

3 1 Renishaw MI5 Probe Interface Unit. PARTNO A/2019/7011.
Unused, still in box.

4 1 Renishaw MI5 Probe Interface Unit. Partno A/2019/7011.
Been in use, cable attached but no end connector on cable.

5 1 Set of Various sized Probe Stylii. Inch dimensions. In original
box.

6 1 half set of Various sized Probe Stylii. inch dimensions.
In original box.

7 1 Set of Various sized Probe Stylii. Metric dimensions. in original
box.

8 4 Probe Shank adapters. Renishaw Partno M/2063/7865

9 1 MA2 Probe holder kit.
Renishaw PARTNO A/2063/7868



The goods all appear to be in good order but are offered with no guarantee,
the purchaser would also pay for shipment costs. I would prefer if one
person
took the job lot but have no real objection to cherry picking.

For general measurement the user would need to write their own Macros to
suit the device being used, information on these macros may be available
from
Renishaw.

In terms of usage, from my memory - The LP2 probe can be fitted to the MA2
Probe holder and the MI5 interface unit is connected to the MA2. When the
LP2
probe is triggered a signal is read by the MI5 unit, the MI5 is also
connected
to the CNC control and it signals for the XYZ coordinates to be read and
output
(normally on an RS232 cable to a PC).
