Have you checked on the Linux Hardware Database?

Quick glance didn't show any "K7ECS" boards, so not
sure who makes it.

I like sticking with INTEL motherboards, and have
had also good luck with the ASUS motherboards. I'd
rather spend an extra $40 than try to find a bad
solder joint any day!!!
