Help with EMC.ini for camtronics 5 amp controllers

This post may get long but here goes. I am trying to get EMC to run
with camtronics 5 amp controllers and 400 in/oz motors. The problem
I am having is that emc will either lock up the machine, reboot the
machine, logoff of linux or just do nothing(runs but nothing
happens). The simulation works fine. I can run linux just fine. I
have run this hardware setup from windows based cnc software so I
know it works. I have no limit or home swithes currently and have
edited the emc.ini several ways including bridgeprot to minimill,
home switch, limit switch and checking printer port. Now to the
questions. Is there somewere to get an FAQ on the EMC.ini file?
Does someone have an emc.ini file that may work with this setup? How
do you setup the motor section? I am using a P133 and it has a very
old SIS chip set. In reading the BDI docs it says that the install
doesn't work with SIS motherboards but I was assuming(never do that)
that it was talking about the new high end SIS. Anyone know if this
could be my problem? I am going to borrow another computer to try
this weekend but I don't think that it is the problem.
Many thanks already to tim in denver and to others that help,
