You should probably go to www.Linuxcnc.org and download the RPM files to
upgrade the BDI to 2.10 (I think that is the newest?). That would make
sure you have the fix for the buffer size problem.
The other thing you are likely to have to do is alter the settings in
the .ini file to load the CPU less. There seems to be some interplay
between step size and maximum speed. Try reducing the maximum feed rate
to a low value and see if it will come up for you.
