Well, I'm using Win98 and just copied the .ttf files into the
\windows\fonts directory to install them. First in DeskEngrave you need to
to into Create - Set Parameters and set your depth, feed, Z clear height
and most importantly Dec. Places (otherwise there aren't any coordinates in
the G-code. Then it's Create - Select Font (it doesn't matter what point
size you choose) and then set the height in the box in the main window, set
Origin X and Origin Y (the bottom center of the text when Alignment - Cen
is chosen) type the numeral in "Enter Text Here" and then to File - Save as
G-Code. Then into the text editor to tweak it. I keep DeskEngrave open
because it gives a scaled preview of the cutter path starting from 0,0 and
that gives me a clue of how it plans to cut (digs and all--once it puts the
cutter down it doesn't lift it until each letter/nubmer is done, expecting
a "normal" outlined TrueType font.)
