I was able this afternoon to use the "Machine Tool San Serif" font
from this site with DeskEngrave to produce the G code to engrave the
numerals 1 to 6 on my in-the-works endmill holder rack--a bar of
aluminum with wells to hold six Sherline endmill holders, just like
the get-paid-for-it machinists at work use to hold the tools for a
multi-tool CNC job. :-)

I don't know if it is the font or DeskEngrave, but I had to do some
cut'n'paste with most of the numerals. Although they are
single-stroke, they are not traced out continuously (i.e. on the "4"
it does the diagonal and vertical strokes, then goes back to do the
horizontal stroke). Rather than insert up and down moves, I
rearranged the cut sequence to be able to trace each numeral with one
"pen down". I used a 1/8" ballmill to cut .5"-high numerals .020"
deep into the bar. A little coarse, but very easy to read.
