Many times the shaft in the center of the bearing is pressed out, then the
inside race can rotate almost to 90 degrees of the outside race. At that
point, the balls will fall out of the cage/assembly. It is very difficult to
distort the inside or outside race as they are thick and heat treated to high
hardness. BTW, some designs have cages, some don't.
