I've been looking at a few CAD packages for linux, QCad was one of
them. My feeling are the same as your. If you use google to search
for linux CAD you will find a few of them out there. There is one
called JCad, it's a java based cad package that I haven't got to work
yet.

I have a window box with a few CAD type programs on it. I have AutoCAD
R13 box set but can't get it to install on my PC. I bought a old pc
with it already installed, I bought the old pc just so I can use
Autocad. I upgraded the HD and reformated the old HD, well to my
surprise, this was a mistake. You can only install once, I called
Autodesk and they informed me it was a dead copy, non-transferable
license Sorry! Wanna buy a newer version?
