Best with an example.

In absolute mode if you are at position x=0.50 and tell the controller to
move to x=0.75 you will move 0.25 units.

In incremental mode if you are at position x=0.50 and tell the controller to
move X=0.75 you will move 0.75 units and end up at x=1.25.
