I appreciate the efforts to keep things on topic. For basic machining
questions there is rec.crafts.metalworking and other resources, no doubt.
There's no reason to duplicate that here. I'm mostly lurking here at the
moment, but this is a relatively high volume mailing list and it should be
kept on topic to be useful.

(The alternative thing would be to establish filter keys that would allow
categories of topics to be filtered by the list members. I've seen that
done, and could give pointers to someone who knows how to set it up, but
there is a constant sub-traffic when threads change topic and when people
forget to put any tag on, and I don't know how many people actually set
up the filters. I suggest against it. )
