Thanks for all the good ideas,

The windings are hard to get at w/o hacking things up. I've already
worked up a cool regulator(big) w/ SOA fault detection for the pass
devices. This way I can experiment alittle also.

Your ideas also got me thinking of experimenting by adding turns to
the primary, but on the outer layer. This would have a higher ratio
of affect than removing windings, and be less intrusive. I'm not a
transformer expert, so I'll do some reading up and have
some articles on winding transformers. Also there was an interesting
spot welder from a microwave xformer website, that gave some insight.

I'll post picture whenever I get this stuff done.
