Similar machines are used to bend auto exhausts, the 3 axis are;
linear motion of the feedstock (tube, wire, rod, etc.)through the
chuck / die.
Rotation of the feedstock to the required angle
Bending of the feedstock as it protrudes from the chuck / die. Note:
only one ram/pushrod is required and the bend is always in the same
direction(machine dependant)the feedstock is rotated before being
bent.
The forces involved can be quite high, the machines for exhausts are
well beefy.
Unfortunately I have no idea where to find more info
