Oh,,, I just had to jump in here......
I've stood in amazement at these machines at the Tool Shows. The speed and
accuracy is an awesome site. Just how the fingers at the end of the machine
were commanded by the software must be something of a wonder in itself.
For sure it would be an excellent challenge to build one of these for home
use...... Problem I have had with the concept is what kind of "hobby" do you
use it for ? Some kind of "wire oragami" ??
It could be really neat, I am sure you could make some doodads to make some
good money with it. Could even turn into an easy Commercial venture !
I would assume one would not use a conventional CNC control program as this
might get more along the lines of "Motion Control Software". I would have to
see if there is a group that deals with straight up "Motion Control" Software
for answers how to Control such a neat project. Possibly Indexer LPT ?....
Its not just for CNC ya know !
Please be sure to let me know if you go down the road to building such a
device.
Thanks,
Chris L
