It's not as hard as you think.
It's actually just five pockets repeated on all 6 faces.
I would imagine that the way it was done would take more thinking
about to stop anything breaking up with cutting forces.
This is my take on it:
Machine four adjacent side going from large to small pockets. The
last two sides will keep it stiff.
Then machine the last two leaving a fair bit on the top four pockets
and clean up coming back out the hole.
UNLESS anyone else has a better idea [ grin ]
