Chris, I agree,

Let me say this, the E stop and other significant buttons should be
able to be hardwired to physical buttons regardless. That is yet
another issue and could possibly be addressed via devices such as the
X-Keys input tablet. In many current control apps, these "buttons"
are extremely small and I've addressed this by making them as large
as possible in the event that you *happen" to have your hand on the
mouse at the time you need the button, or in the event that you do
have a touchscreen. Considering the amount of typo's I make on a
daily basis, I'm not fond of having PC keyboard control be the main
source of critical input either. In my example, I try to cover all
the bases without eliminating options.....
