Quite a robust machine for it's size. Far superior to the Shoptask
type 3 in 1 machine which is more lathe with mill thrown in. This one
is more mill with lathe thrown in.
There is a lot of this East European machinery on the market over
here at present. Good heavy equipment for not a lot of money and most
with a good pedigree.
People used to take the mickey out of Skoda cars before Volkswagen
bought them out but in the machine tool line they have a brilliant
reputation. I have some Skoda keyless chucks and they are far
superior to the Albreich ones. Just need the slightest nip to hold a
drill or tap and they tighten themselves up, never slip even on
ground tap shanks. When you come to undo they just untwist. Non of
this wrist breaking manouvers with the Albreich ones or the continual
spinning of the Jacobs.
