Both machines have built in video. I have a Dell at work with built-in
video, disabled at Dell's factory, and a plug-in VGA card in it.
I don't know anyone who has much success with built-in VGAs
except for very plain-vanilla Windows systems. Get a reasonably
late model VGA card, preferably PCI, but I think AGP cards are working
better now, too (there once were a lot of problems with AGP).
Make sure EVERY piece of hardware in the system is on the
supported hardware list at the linux.com site for your kernel version.
This should get it running. I have built a number of Linux systems, but
am just tinkering with BDI at present. My other EMC systems were
all started with Red Hat 5.2 CDs.
