the 'img' extension is set up for linux. it tends to not work well with
windows (TM) stuff. rename the file to .iso, THEN select the option: write
from image... probably in the file pull down menu. what you did was to copy
the FILE to the disk, NOT create a disk from the image... so it's got a
normal file system on it with the bde???.img on it right? hope that

I have downloaded the BDI ISO image file, extracted it with Winimage
software for windows and then created the CD using some CD writting
software because my CD writing software does not open any file with
extension img.When I tried to boot from this CD, it does not boot
(although my system has the capability to boot from CD and it was
properly configured to boot from CD, moreover I have also tried on
some other systems also) .Then I made a bootable floopy from the DOS
utility found in the BDI CD, system booted but Linux install failed
with the following error:

"install exited abnormally... received signal 11
sending termination signals... done
sending kill signals.... done
disabling swap...
unmounting filesystem
/mnt/source
/dev/pts
ejecting CD ROM

Please let me know which sofware should be used for creating bootable
BDI CD? since normally available softwares do not open any file with
img extension,instead they open files with iso extension.
