Hi Al,
If you're just wanting to get a feel for linux itself, then you could try
one of the versions of linux which run under windows. ( www.winlinux.net/ or
www.monmouth.com/user_pages/patv/linux.html or
www.linux-mandrake.com/en/lnx4win.php3 are three possibilities)
There are a couple available which you run pretty much like a normal program
in windows. I doubt, however, that EMC could be coaxed to operate under one
of these versions.
Dual booting isn't too difficult but you do need to put linux on first -
awkward if you only have one computer which is already heavily committed)
The best way is to use an old computer - something like a P200 with a 1GB
hard drive and 32Mb RAM and just dedicate it to linux, networking it to your
windoze machine.
