You are of course correct... distance it is...

Well I don't care much for Linux, this forum alone is proof enough to
keep me away from it... perhaps if there was one version, it would be
tolerable. Yes I have read the arguments for Linux, but it does not make
sense to punish oneself. That's why I never bothered with OS/2...

As I see it, getting the timing requirements out of the PC and into a
microcontroller is a far better solution, then the "link" does not
really mater. I would prefer using USB... does Linux support USB..?
