Both steppermod.o and freqmod.o run without external position feedback.
Freqmod.o simulates an encoder in the software so you have to tune it as
if there is an encoder there, but it is virtual.

You will know when you get one as the motion stops and you get a follow
error warning to the screen. You fix it by tuning the PID parameters,
particularly the P, and adjusting the acceleration.
