Depending on the date, sometime around 1970, all the US makers switched
to metric scales, and put mm -> inch conversion in their readout boxes.
So, you can't cross that bridge, in general. So, make sure both your old
scales and the new ones read out in the same units.

Second, these labels sound like these Teledyne/Gurley might be analog scales,
rather than logic signals. That could be a big problem.
