Carl,
I don't know anything about Flashcut, but I have seen pauses like you
speak of in other controllers. Never as long as 1.5 seconds, still
noticeable, though.
My solution is to program the cycle equivalent longhand and access
the code via a subroutine or similiar method. That minimizes
the "thinking" time in the controller. Besides the speeed advantage
of longhand programming you have a little more control of the process
which can be important in high quantity operations where every second
adds up.
