Although I can't answer for Mariss' Gecko drives (either stepper or servo)
or any other drive in particular, they all pretty much use similar full-bridge
topology, as my own servo amps do. I came up with a circuit that ramps
power to the servo amps slowly (so as not to trip the high-side current
sensing circuit) and also extracts energy from the motors, if the machine was
in motion when e-stop was activated.
