It's probably the quickest program to learn and it's been written to
make the CAM side as easy as possible.
If you are happy using Autocad 2000 that fine. With Dolphin you have
a choice. You can import into the CAD side as a dxf file and specify
which of the shapes need to be your toolpath, or you can draw the
shape you need for the toolpath and import that straight into the
CAM system.
With Dolphin you don't need to draw the offset path of your cutter.
Dolphin automatically does this for you. It also puts in the approach
and depart paths and ramps automatically. All you EVER have on the
screen is your original drawing, no extra clutter.
The edit facility is fantastic. You only generate the code when you
are happy with the finished job as shown in the simulation window.
No writing on the fly and cutting and pasting, That's for interior
decorators.
It's that flexible that if you decide you want to do the operations
in a different order you just drag the operation to where you want it
and the new code will be generated automatically.
So far I've taught four people on this list who used another low cost
program how to program in Dolphin. All four have found it far easier
and dropped the other program.
