8-wire 1/2coil stepper?

Hi,

The gecko paper for motor connection

shows 5 diagrams for connecting motors

(A) 4 wire

(B) 6 wire half-winding virtually = parallel

(C) 6 wire full-winding exactly = series

(D) 8 wire parallel = 3% more efficient than half-winding (B)

(E) 8 wire series = no advantage compared with full winding.

(D) shows all 4 coils wired up as compared with (B). I am worried
about wiring the motor as I believe there may be a possibility that
the coils may be connected to oppose each other.

Question: Is it possible to add a sixth possibility (F) for 8 wires
and sacrifice that 3% more efficient. (for added confidence before I
embark on this, hope those who have followed this route successfully
(or even disastrously) will post their experience

(F) 8 wires half-winding exactly = (B)

where only 1 coil of one phase is wired, and the other coil is
ignored.
