Some have found the g92 offsets to be confusing. What I've done is written a
small script that sits under the scripts menu in tkemc that gives rather easy
access to the ten coordinate offset systems available with the interpreter.
You can start this widget and select a coordinate system. I tend to leave
g54 at 0 for all axes and start my offset systems with g55. Then using the
main tkemc screen you can jog to where you want a zero and press teach on
that axis, repeat for all of the axes that you have defined and press load
and save. Then edit your part program to include a g55 where you want to use
that offset.
