Bob
I found the prices in the attached post a little low, being at the
back end of a conversion the following are recent prices:
Hiwin X & Y rolled $550, ground $895. I haven't fitted the Y axis
yet as the existing ENCO yoke doesn't have enough meat to take the
mounting screws and I'm probably going to have to kludge up a
mounting plate. The yoke IS NOT the same size as a BP. Other people
on the list have converted without problem, but I also think it has
to do with which ENCO you have, mine is the 9x42".
I used 600 oz-in DCPM servos, these are fine for the X&Y axis, but I
consider it too small for the Z axis (recent post 'Knee or Quill
drive?').
Timing belts and pulleys (Brecoflex) were $ 190 for 3 axis, but I
made up my own expanding shaft coupler for the motors.
