Need Recomendation: Freq. Counter

I have been studying stepper circuits and would now like obtain a
frequency counter as a companion to my O'scope.

Used is O.K.

Definately on a tight budget here. Would like to make this a one time
purchase for my own educational and troubleshooting purposes.

Can any one recomend a good brand/model to look for and at what price
I should be able to get it for?
