Hi,

I did an experiment that conclusively proved I didn't know what I was
talking about.

I took a fine Vexta 0.9 degree, 2.3A @ 3.9V, double-stack size 23
motor. I ran a speed/torque curve on it and measured its inductance
using the current slope method.

I then dismantled the motor and let the rotor sit for an hour. Then I
put it back together again and ran the same tests on it again.

The result was a less than 3% drop in the speed/torque response
(within experimental tolerance, so meaningless) and no change in the
inductance measurement.

Modern motors do not demagnetize when disassembled. This was the case
with alnico magnets but not with the rare-earth magnets used now.
