Hi Rich,

There is no reason domestic tap water should not be used BUT I would guess
that, in amongst the pipework and pumps, there is a pretty good particulates
filter, probably a water softener and almost certainly a resin deinionising
filter. I have also heard of water being deionised by ultra-violet light but
haven't seen it done this way on a machine.
