Al,
I have set up 110 volt in - 220 v 3 phase out VFD's. These are equiped with
voltage doublers. I think it may be possible to find 220v in 440v out VFD's.
All the units I have played with, Yaskawa, GE, and AC Tech have programable
output voltages. The output could be set to 415 on a 440-480 unit. If the
spindle FLA is what you quote, this is a large machine and a even larger
power bill. If you are hogging stainless, or some other tough material,
you'll want a 200 amp service to your home at the very least. Your lights
will go dim on the heavier cuts. Certainly could not weld or cook with the
electric oven while it is running.

BTW, Double check to make sure the motor can't be rewired for 240 volt or
similar operation.
