It might, and it might not. Some of the most important differences are
lack of magnetic cogging, torque ripple and velocity ripple in good
servo motors. Magnetic cogging is easily felt by turning the shaft
manually. Velocity ripple can be detected by connecting the motor
to a 'stiff' low-voltage power supply, like one cell of a car battery,
and observing for a fluctuation in speed. Torque ripple is harder
to detect, but severe cases can be felt by loading the shaft with
your hand while the motor is run from a constant-current power
source.
