I drive from 450 and 600 oz-in steppers using Berg's cable-timing belt in
.2 pitch. These rate at 100 lbs tensile at the splice. They are about 5/16"
wide. Have never slipped but I did crack a few splices in various
contretemps situations. They should hold up to 150 oz-in steppers forever.

Your drive ratio is going to depend on required precision and lead pitch.
